WHAT IS LEADER QUEST?
Leader Quest is a yearlong challenge for high school student leaders, focusing on leadership as a journey, not a destination. Just like a quest, it’s about courage, growth, and serving others. Students will face challenges, discover their strengths, and return ready to impact their community. It’s modeled after the Hero’s Journey, where participants:
- Step into the unknown to discover their purpose.
- Grow through challenge that test their courage and perserverance.
- Return ready to make a difference in their community.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE
Students commit to attend three conference days in the 2026-2027 school year. These conference days include hands-on, experiential learning activities, and include opportunities to apply new skills in real service projects.

3 PHASES OF THE JOURNEY
WHY THE HERO’S JOURNEY?
The hero’s journey is a classic storyline:
- Leave the familiar to face challenges.
- Grow through obstacles and transformation.
- Return with wisdom to serve others.
Famous examples include The Lion King, Moana, Mulan, Finding Nemo, and superheroes like Captain America, Thor, and Wonder Woman. These stories remind us that true leaders serve others — avoiding the trap of ego and self-interest.
WHY It matters
Leader Quest isn’t about sitting in a classroom. It’s about stepping into your own story. Over the course of the year, you’ll take part in a series of epic quests, each one pulling you further along your path of self-discovery and leadership. You’ll face challenges that test your determination, moments that push you beyond your comfort zone, and experiences that reveal your true strengths.
This is your chance to explore who you are, what you stand for, and how you can use your gifts to make a difference. Like every great hero’s journey, you’ll return home transformed with the confidence, courage, and skills to lead change in your school, your community, and beyond.
